It is getting to be that time of year again and we are really not ready for it. Luckily for Cassidy and Collin that Lane came early. I do not know if I would be able to make a "santa visit" if he would have come on time. My body is finally getting somewhat back to normal, so I am able to get back to my mom and house duties. Hopefully that will mean I will be able to get to Santa duties as well. I do not enjoy shopping and I really do not enjoy Christmas shopping, however this year with all of our blessings, I am looking forward to this Christmas.

It is amazing how much you forget about having a small baby when you have had them before. It is a wonder Cassidy and Collin have turned out so well. All of the kids are doing great! Cassidy has a chorus concert coming up and has been hanging out with her friends, running around to concerts and christmas lights. Collin is just Collin! He loves to just be doing whatever anyone will do with him. He is happiest with his peepaw and both kids love their new role as bigger sister and big brother. Lane has been a great baby, however I havent had a baby that hasnt just been content. Lane only cries when he is hungry and he is starting to stay awake more. We put him in his boppy seat and he just kind of hangs out and looks around in wonder. It is amazing how much joy children can bring to your life. Cassidy keeps me on my toes (she is 14) but what a great young lady she is turning out to be and a very funny person, Collin says things that just keep you laughing and is very smart and Lane has just brought a calm and a new appreciation for life to our house.

Lane has been home for a few days now. He is a great baby, very quiet, so far he only cries when he is hungry. Of course it is still early. To me this is always the easiest time. Everyone has been taking their share of feedings (well for a few minutes anyway). Cameron has been very helpful, he does bottles and has had to do a few doody diapers. Collin has been swayed by the "power of cuteness" he loves his new brother and Cassidy has gotten pretty good at making bottles for me as well. There really are no words to explain this gift we have received.

Lane is Home!!!!

Lane is finally home!!! We are so thankful to finally have our whole family together!

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Cameron and I got great news yesterday. Lane will be coming home tomorrow. He had such a problem with feeding and on Sunday we went to the hospital to feed him and he gulped his bottle down in less than 10 minutes. It was like something just clicked and he had been doing this forever. We are so grateful and excited for him to be home with us and the kids!!

Lane is 10 days old today. He is still working on eating. He is being a little lazy about it. Hopefully soon he will catch on and get it. We need for him to get home. The kids are still waiting to see him. 5 minutes isnt cutting it for them. They have really been troopers during all of this. We need life to get back to normal! (whatever that is) Cameron held him for the first time today, he has had a cold and he didnt want to get him sick but he is finally getting clear of it. Everyone's prayers and thoughts have been greatly appreciated.

It sure is good to be home! Our family is almost complete, each day is one step closer to having all three kids at home. Thank goodness Cassidy and Collin were here to help take care of me. Cameron had to work today so the kids were on Mom duty. I will be so glad when I can completely take care of them again. Meanwhile with all of this going on with myself and Lane the kids life has gone on. Cassidy has gotten a part in the high school choir and is thinking about singing in the school talent show and Collin has received a Good Behavior Report as well as great reports from his principal about how well behaved he is. We are very proud of them both and the way they have handled the past several months. They deserve something great!

Unfortunately I will be checking out of PRMC alone today. However, I am glad to be going home so I can give some attention to Cass and Collin. This has been pretty hard on them as well. They have only gotten to peak at Lane through glass and have not been able to touch him at all. Lane is doing well, I am sure he will be here at least a few more days. We well I should say I had a little bit of a scare yesterday, Lane had to get a head ultra sound (because of some blips he has with his heart that he should be rid of in a few days) and it scared me pretty bad because I wasn't expecting it and there was some miscommunication between myself and the doctor. Being the emotional mother I am, I just lost it. Sometimes it just makes you wonder why things are made to be so hard? It seems like for some people everyday is a test and for others they just go through with a breeze taking everything for granted. I certainly would love to have maybe just one or two days without a pop quiz!!

Let the late night feedings begin.....

Lastnight around 2 a.m I could not sleep so I took a chance and walked (very slowly) to the nursery to see if Lane was awake. Just so happen it was feeding time, I felt like I hit the lottery. It took a little while to get him going, it was his first real feeding since he was born, he has been being fed by a tube, which he still has for backup. After we got him going through some poking, wiggling and foot tickling we finally got through a pretty good feeding. He stayed awake the whole time and was even wide eyed and bushy tailed for a half an hour later where he gave me a few looks as shown above!

Wonderful Life

Today we had good news! Well I enjoyed them better than Cameron :( Cameron is trying to get over a cold so he did not get to indulge in our good news today. I got to hold Lane for the first time today since he was born yesterday morning! He has been in his baby box in NICU because his breathing is a little fast and they want to make sure his lungs mature a little bit more and make sure he has no infection. I can not tell you how wonderful it was to hold our little boy for the first time. I have gotten the privalege to have 2 other babies and feel this amazing love but each time it is a different appreciation for it. Each time it changes who you are. I am so happy in my life with my husband and our children. I never want to know any other kind of life.

I love you guys Cameron, Cassidy, Collin and Lane, you are my whole heart and world!!

Now What??

Well Granny E left us this morning. Thank goodness she had a safe trip and made it home safely! But now what? We went to Annapolis yesterday and were given great news...my placenta has moved therefore I can have a normal birth and no more bed rest...taking it easy but I can go back to my normal life...I just cant remember exactly what that is....I think I had gotten use to Granny E being here and I woke up this morning thinking I was going to do all of these things I used to do before all of my pregnancy issues...but I had nothing to do, which was a good thing so I got to rest for most of the day pretty easily knowing everything was taken care of (for now at least, until the kids and Cameron get home). I had not had a good nights sleep in a very long time but knowing my pregnancy issues are clearing up and the world did not fall apart by letting someone else take over, I was able to have a big sigh of relief and a wonderful afternoon nap! Annapolis Dr. also said I was probably about 2 weeks further than what we thought and Lane looks very healthy at right around 6lbs!!

Pumpkin Patch

Today was a beautiful fall day so Granny E took the kids to Mr. Peppers Pumpkin Patch. They all picked pumpkins and went through the corn maze! Here are a few pictures from their pumpkin adventure. As for me....I am still horizontal...waiting for my own pumpkin!

Our Everyday Life!

I do not know if my body is going to let me go a full 40 weeks. It looks as if I am already at 52 weeks!! Luckily (keeping my fingers crossed) I have not had any more hospital episodes for almost 2 weeks! I have started to feel somewhat normal lately. I have been getting up for about an hour a day just to feel like I'm alive.

We also went to see Miss Julie's new baby, Mason. What a beautiful child and how quiet he is and of course Ms. Liza looks like she's protecting her baby! We love getting in all the baby practice we can!! Bring on the babies!!

And then of course there is Mater, he is just waiting for everything to be over with and someone to notice him!!!

Family Photo Shoot

We just wanted to share some pictures of the prego family. Enjoy. We had a good time doing these and making our memories of our family and expecting Lane.

Cassidy Homecoming

Cassidy's first Homecoming! Cassidy and her date, Christian going to Delmar High School Homecoming and the following week Cassidy going with a group of friends at Parkside High 2008! She is turning into such a beautiful young lady!

We want to thank E (who is getting in her baby practice here with our friends baby Lynleigh) for being in Maryland since the beginning of September to take care of us. She has done the cooking, the cleaning, running the kids EVERYWHERE and even doing projects around the house to get ready for Lane. Without her, we would be in total chaos with me not being able to get up and do anything and Cameron working and going to school. She is giving us some normalcy in our lives. We should also thank Poppy J for letting us have her for so long. Hopefully, he is wearing clean clothes eventhough she isn't there to take care of him LOL. We are planning to let her come home the first of November for a little while, but Arkansas has to give her back when Lane is born. Enjoy her while she is there! If given the chance I could not have picked a better set of inlaws, we are very lucky to have them!

These goofballs are keeping me sane through all of this bed rest. I have never had 3 people make me laugh so hard. I am very blessed to have them. They have had their world turned upside down the past few months due to my hospital episodes and they have managed to come together and keep our family going. I am very proud of all of them.

Collin was the Star Student the first week of school!!
